Digitalism have mixed the next edition of DJ-Kicks, due for release in July.

Ismail Tuefekci and Jens Moelle rode to fame five years ago off the back of a few high-octane EPs on Parisain electro house outlet Kitsuné Music. They’ve evolved a bit since then, not least by reinventing themselves as a live band last year. That said, DJ-Kicks strikes a familiar chord for the Hamburg duo, blending fuzzy electro (Axel Le Baron, Vitalic) with upbeat dance punk (The Rapture, WhoMadeWho). The mix features eight new tracks from Digitalism—two edits and six original productions, all of which will be available on the unmixed vinyl version of the release. You can download one of the exclusive tracks, “A New Drug,” right here in exchange for your email address.

HUXLEY making moves with “Out The Box” EP

Huxley is becoming one of the brightest stars to emerge from an ever-evolving UK music scene, emerging from the underground clubs of London, Bristol, Leeds and Glasgow. Young producers are honing their talents to create new sounds influenced by the their exposure to house, techno, dubstep and garage music.  When 2020Vision approached Huxley, they specifically requested that he created a four track EP that truly reflected his skills. He responded superbly and produced the ‘Out The Box’ EP.

On the first track ‘Box Clever’ Huxley gives us pure house music with rich chords, a killer piano line and a deeply felt female spoken word vocal.  The flip side ‘Atonement’ delves into deep house with layers of subtly worked synths wrapped up around confident New York style garage beats.  ’Out of my mind’ showcases his love of diverse beats and leaves the four to the floor until late in the track enabling a far busier drum and bass workout with dubstep sentiments. The digitally exclusive ‘Feel What You Want’ sounds like a session from Secretsundaze with it’s classic 90s influenced groove and vocal hooks.

The sky is the limit for Huxley as he continues to conquer with a fine selection of releases on Tsuba, Noir, Fear Of Flying, Hypercolour and, now, on 2020 Vision with “Out the Box.”
EP release date: April 8th
